In October, my 2 year old son was diagnosed with a heart defect. Basically, he has a hole in his heart. The Cardiologist said we'll do another ultrasound after a year, and if the hole hasn't gotten any smaller (which he didn't think it will), my son will need heart surgery to fix this.

About three weeks ago, my son started coughing, mainly when running around playing. He also had itchy eyes and a runny nose, so I figured he has allergies, like me, and the doctor gave him allergy meds. The itchy eyes and runny nose are gone, the cough is not.

So I took him in again two days ago. Saw a different doctor this time. She's worried that the coughing mainly starts with exertion, which to her indicates that it could be his heart getting worse. So now my son is on antibiotics to rule out a lung infection, and if the cough is not gone in 7-10 days, I have to take him back to the Cardiologist. He's been on the antibiotics for three days now, and no change so far. I now it's still early, but I'm worried sick. I'm so scared that his heart might be getting worse. My husband is still overseas, and he's freaking out too.

Thank you so much if you made it this far. I just had to get this off my chest. I'm just so worried and scared and stressed over this. I just hope that his cough disappears in a few days.
