While I was laying on the couch with my leg up (torn tendon), my 2 year old got into the freezer in the kitchen, took out two packs of homemade fudgesicles, and took them to his room. Can you guess what I found? I child covered in chocolate, and I mean COVERED, and a floor that looks like someone got murdered.

And see the world without your sorrow
Where no one knows the pain you left behind
And all the peace you could never find
Is waiting there to hold and keep you
Welcome to the first day of your life

Just open up your eyes as I lay you down tonight
Safe on the other side
No more tears to cry

It is. I took pictures to send to my husband, so he can see what he's missing out on. But yes, it was definitely an "AFV" moment. At least it washed off easily off my son, haven't tackled the carpet yet, I need to take breaks in between, not do too much at once, gotta let my leg heal.

The little stinker has been getting into EVERYthing. I don't blame him, his brother is not here to play with, I can't take him to the playground, or on walks, or anywhere really. I just can't figure out how to walk on those stupid crutches without falling over. He is bouncing off the walls. The babysitter took him to the playground for a while this morning, luckily.

Hi whenwillitend. I also have a sore ankle/foot with tendonitis, so I can relate to your situation.

Could you help your son build a "fort" or "tent" with kitchen chairs pushed close together and blankets over the top? You could get on your knees, so it shouldn't hurt your foot too badly and it might keep him busy for awhile.

Your son sounds like a very good kid and you sound like a great Mom. I hope you heal quickly. slow

That's actually a good idea, I didn't think of that. I think he would like that. I don't think I can get on the floor though, because I don't think I'd be able to get back up with my leg. The tear in the tendon is in my calf. But the fort is a good idea. My husband suggested Chuck'E'Cheese's. But I'd still have to follow my son around, I can't just let a 2 year old loose in there. Same at the playground, he always needs my help there. And our playground here is really big, it would be impossible to sit down and keep an eye on him. Luckily he's going to the babysitter on Friday again, so he'll have some playtime there, and hopefully I'll be off the crutches soon.
