Just got told the company I work for is having difficulties. Turns out income hasn't really been meeting expenditure for the last two years, but the MD was sure it would pick up and wasn't really keeping an eye on it anyway, as he was busy with his other firm.
This was the first inkling I had that anything was wrong. Only 5 people work for the company, including the MD. Of the 5, I've been there the least amount of time (2 years) and am the only one who does not have some level of ownership in the business. So guess who is the obvious candidate for redundancy? ![]() There is some talk of buying out another partner, either me doing so (I couldn't afford this) or the remaining partners doing so and me buying the share from them bit by bit. But either way it involves radical restructuring (as 4 people wd have to do work which has been divided by 5 up to now). Really bad stuff. ![]() I don't know how to tell my gf, we have just been starting the process of moving house. |

Well, it was confirmed today - I'm being made redundant
![]() It's a shame as I have really enjoyed working here for the last 2 years. My gf was good about it ![]() Anyone have any ideas for a career that isn't going to go kaput in the next few years? Every job I start seems to become unneccesary due to technological or budgetary changes!! |
