I get tired of seeing child or adult prices or whatever, based upon age. There's no clear dilenation of what age should be what...so I did a lot of thinking about it and here's what I came up with:
0 - 3 Infant 3 - 12 Child 12 - 21 Young Adult This way, everyone plays by the same rules. What do you think? Agree or Disagree?

I think whoever is setting the prices can decide what they want as it's their goods they are trying to sell to their market group or law they're following, etc. I don't think physical age is necessarily the only criteria for breakdown; think of the age versus height measurements at amusement parks? If one restaurant has a lot of older people eating there, they're going to have a senior menu, if there are families, they'll have specials where kids eat free (but probably make sure the kids are of an age where they won't eat that much!) and if they're Denny's, they'll have both

I was told as a child. I am also told as an adult to '''Act''' my age.
My only reply is 'I', will only ''be'' or ''feel'' my age. I was an actor, I only act/perform/be false (that all means to be untrue, its false); an age when I perform on stage. In life I will just ''live my age''. I must 'be' my age, not 'act' it. To act is to be false. To be is to be true. To ''act'' false in life and age is to be human. A flaw it is; but true. All ages are equal and deserve equal truth. Some age quicker some do not. I would never see an age as a dividing line. Motzart wrote his first symphony @ 4 years old. Was he a child or an adult (there are many more examples of other Motzart's or whatever's). I know that this is not good to say, but i can only be my age. In my opinion there should be more of a break down. I do not think a three year old is in the same bracket as an 11 year old. However if you want to see someone freak, try telling them that they qualify for the senior citizen's discount when they are in their mid / late 50s.

Yes, I am a senior citizen by your definition, AAAAA. It freaked me out the first time I was offered a discount - with a cruise line. I never took the cruise, but it made me realize I was getting old. I'm holding on for dear life to being young, because I lose my disability at age 65, and my pension is nothing. All those discounts won't make up for losing a huge amount of money. Well, $1500 or so, which is a lot these days.

hmmmm TL, from what i know from working with children and working in some of the schools. It goes: 0 - 7 Infants 7 - 11 Juniors/Child 11 - 21 Young Adult But that might be just here tho. I agree with you tho TL ![]()

I guess I didn't get my point across. I think there should be a standardized age bracket, so that airlines, amusement parks, movie theaters, etc., have the same guidelines for charging fees for kids and adults. Sorry, I don't consider an 11 year old an adult!

I understand your point toothless but I just do not think that is realistic. Different situations dictate different cut offs. But then again if I go into Perkins and want a child meal because of what is on it, I have to pay more because I am neither a child nor senior citizen (couple of years before I hit 54) if they will allow me to order it at all. It does not cost them any more to make that meal. By the same token, why should I pay more for a seat in a movie theater than a 12 year old? We are getting the exact same service.
The vendor is (and should be in my opinion) the one that makes these determinations. If I do not agree with their opinion I vote by not spending my money there. I frequent a different theater than I did when my kids were young. The one I go to now has larger more comfortable seats. It does not discount children's tickets. That does not mean there will not be children there, but most parents prefer to take their children to the more family friendly theater.
