I'm not even American but "yes" they should if it will help bring the deficit down even if it is only a slight reduction it's better then nothing.Somehow though I don't and can't see this happening.

Are their salaries taxed? If not, they should be. I am in favor of cutting their benefits. For instance, I think their private health club should be abolished. And, the lunches in their private cafeteria should serve the same foods offered in poor school children's school cafeterias! Goodbye to politicians as a priviliged class; let them mix with the citizens they represent and get to know them and how they live. Our politicials are spoiled with fancy lunches and dinners and trips with lobbyists. The perks provided by lobbyists should be made illegal.

yeah or sumthin' to be a part of the solution for this mess. they've voted in/spent oodles and yet cut many services that our citizens receive. everything is backward, imho.
