so I have to take all these crazy music classes and there are a few that have grown on me, not all directly from class but relating in some way to my classes this and last semester. For some reason I'm in the mood for sharing.

really touching (keep listening past the first 20 seconds it's hard to hear the beginning):

funny:

kind of crazy:

yeah these are weird. But there we go.

First selection, I love the combination or strings & the sound they create. To me it created a feeling of flowing nothingness in beautiful harmon.

Love the light hearted jazz piano with the brilliant talent of Yo-yo-ma. Cello is by far my favorite string instrument. The tone is so mellow & warm. Had never heard in in a Jazz setting before. Definitely a Fun composition.

Never heard of Schnittke before. Loved the touch of the harpsichord with the strings in the modern20th century composition. Sounded like the 2 violins where arguing between each other & then all the others chiming in on the argument. The harmony was definitely pleasing for it being 20th century. Very interesting to listen to.

Thanks for sharing.....took me back to my music major days....only we didn't have youtube in 1970. I broke my parents record player listening to the records over & over for my music history final. The 5 measures anywhere in the piece of music....what piece of music is it kind of test. (like the "I can name that tune if 5 notes"....lol)

yes that is HARD!!! We've had similar tests but we have more like 10 MEASURES and generally important sections thank goodness =x

I must say - I take youtube and mp3's for granted but they are lifesavers.

Glad you both listened/like in some way =D
