If I get a dog, I just know he'll eat my homework.

Maybe but maybe not. If you get a puppy lots of training to not do the things you don't want like eating home work if you get an older dog i'd ask a lot of questions. My boyfriend and i took in his sister's dog i knew he was having issues with kids but i didn't know he was barely trained and was bad with stranger dogs and didn't know commands like heal. He's a working progress but it's hard due to he's like 5 years old. I'm proud of some of his progress but he also goes back to bad habits like barking inside at every noise not just warning. And sadly we haven't broke him of anxiety of being home alone so he literally goes every where with us which then if we want to go out he has to be doggie sat by my boyfriend's parents cause like he's not very good with strange ppl. It can be hard work and all but he's good to have around a lot like when i'm sad he follows me and is like pet me be happy or he does go lay down when he's too much for me to handle and need to be alone but comes when i'm ready for dog time one thing i hoped would help with my boyfriend was him going out more with the dog, but it hasn't worked as i hoped. My boyfriend has anxiety and i was hoping the dog by needing to go out would help but not so much with dept just like me. The dog goes out but i wish i did better with long walls more often than once in a while when i'm pumped lol. I think animals are awesome cats are easier cause they are less maintenance as far as going out they still need their box changed but they too are cuddly creatures i'll admit i've had some cats that are lone kitties but That's ok cuz they relate to me and still liked pettings i hope this helps with some things to consider with getting a dog or animal

You can do what i did. My dog "found" me when she was already one. She wasnt a puppy anymore and shes a standard poodle. Turns out the universe or higher powers graced me with the perfect dog in a way. She wasnt a puppy anymore and i had a hard time believing she was homeless because she didnt chew or go potty in the house but because of the shape she was in professionals told me she had been on her own about three months. So, i recommend you read about the needs and traits of different breeds. For example, a standard may not be right for you because they require a lot of exercise and grooming. You could then adopt an older dog
Thanks for this!

Or you could get a puppy and start obedience training right away. You can talk to the trainer about your specific concerns. Believe me the money and time spent training initially will save you time and money later on. My first dog that found me is 13 now. She is the best thing that ever happened to me so im very biased.

This is a good thing.
You won't have to do it and you won't be lying when you tell your teachers.
