Ouch. This hits too close to home. I'd still be kicking myself around the block, so when I say Don't Do That! I give good advice from a hypocritical source!

Of course, the bottom line is: It happened. You can't change that.

I am so sorry, I really do know how you feel because I dropped my camera off a bridge about a year ago, never saw it again. Hope you & your new camera have amazing times together....

Here is my philosophy about breaking things like this. I've done it as well. I used to have an old cell phone I kept for about 5 years. Loved it. It just worked well... Buuuut at the same time I wanted a new one. One day I was running and it came flying out of my pocket and just... That was that.

Soooo. Instead of getting terribly upset. I just say 'hey! An excuse to purchase something newer and better."

I'm not a photographer wiz, but. I'm sure you'll love whatever you pick out next to no ends. And it'll be even better than the old one. Excuse to shop!

does anyone have a camera? what kind? what opinions can i get? i tried a canon A2200 and the video format was MOV and that format sucks! I returned it and researched and picked up a canon A490 which has AVI, yay! BUT the video and sound are not in sync! I mean what the #$% is going on with quality?!? Am i gonna return this one too? Im not happy with it that is dang sure. Are all brands MOV, because that sucks! Im not waiting 30mins to convert to AVI just to get it to a format in order to edit my videos, that is a freaking joke!!

ps: sad part is i ask people at the photo area what camera use AVI format on video and they are like.....huh??? what is AVI? Do people even look at video icons on a pc? it says avi, mov, mpeg, wmv, etc. 70% of my movies are wmv, and the best not needing edited straight from my great camera, now in peices, are AVI which play the best quality, smooth, no dropped frames, and sound matches. what more can a guy ask for? (in video)
