I don't celebrate it because I'm from England. But I wish all my American and Canadian friends a happy thanksgiving. I hope you enjoy your day. I'm not sure what it's all about. I remember about a turkey but that's it.

Happy thanksgiving :)
Thanks for this!

Thank you

It's pretty much about celebrating that the first Europeans didn't starve to death during their first winter when they arrived here... well, not all of them at least. Kind of a "count your blessings day." At least, that's what they tell you in elementary school.

And then the next day the hordes and masses go out to beat each other to death of low low prices on random sale items. Go figure.

Good point, I personally stay away from the retail madness of black Friday. The irony though is certainly not lost on me. Thank you for so effectively pointing out what a lot of us are thinking.

Me personally, I never understood the whole "Black Friday" thing. Where did the name come from. You can't turn around anywhere right now without seeing store deals everywhere. People's safety should come first, rather than them worrying about their retail sales.

Hello Happycheeks.

I am from England.....I still 'try' to celebrate the 'Idea' of Thanksgiving.
I honestly think that is the first thing we could gain from America in these times of economic crisis and need for support.

Its the Idea that I love , not the time of year. Thanks giving should be a Universal Holiday, the time we come together where ever we are on Earth.

Soooooooooooo Happycheeks.

From the the UK (england), I say Happy thanks Giving.

Happy thanksgiving to you too I know what you mean. I like the idea of being thankful and coming together and supporting each other. It's nice. At least, I wished everyone a happy thanks giving.
Thanks for this!
