So....
I hate holidays, especially Christmas, they're so depressing. And I definitely hate/dread having to put up a tree, I hate/dread having to decorate it, and I hate/dread having to take it all back down after the holiday is over. It's just never worth the effort. So I have a 3ft, pre-decorated, pre-lit tree that I dig out of the closet every year. I keep a bag over it so that all I have to do is take it off and set the tree somewhere. It's simple. I don't have to do anything really, and it takes like 5 minutes. It's always the same sh#t, just a different year. So this year, I want to try something a little different...... I bought a white Christmas tree( I love white ones, I think they look so pretty). It's 61/2 ft. tall. There's no lights on it, and no decorations, which means I have to buy some. I want to come up with some sort of theme and decorate it 'me' style, and I don't really care what anyone else thinks. I'm actually excited about it. It's going to be fun. I'm not exactly sure what theme I want, but one idea swirling around in my head is to buy all black decorations and put an Ozzy Osbourne bobble head on top instead of a star. That would look so awesome, don't you think? The black decorations on a white tree would look so good together. And I could put black crosses and stuff on the tree.... There's so many different ways that I can decorate the tree that it's making Christmas not seem so dreadful this year, because I have something to look forward to, and I'm excited about something. I would love to hear any ideas you may have about unusual ways to decorate a tree. Even if I don't decide until like the day before Christmas, I'm having fun thinking of things right now. |

Absolutely - just go for whatever strikes you and creates some fun and joy!
I also dislike putting up trees, ornaments, decor, etc. And it used to be something I loved to do. Guess for me, if some idea struck me as one that would bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart - I wouldn't care what anyone else thought about it. Have fun!

There's so many different way I could decorate my tree. Another idea is since I collect ceramic bears, I could even do a 'panda bear' tree. That would be cool too. |

Wow......you have found a way to now make Christmas fun......I hope other people take your advice about the tree. I love the idea of having a theme rather then just putting ornaments on it like every year!!

Lost In Thought, Good for you! I love your idea of a black and white tree, with black balls and either with the pandas and possibly bamboo leaves/sprigs (can even spray paint them if did not want them green) or crosses with the Ozzy bobblehead star-cracked me up. Would definitely bring some fun to the tree. I love black with silver too; ooooh, you're giving me ideas, hmmm. Thanks.
I grow tired of the the traditional tree so the one year, I had a white tree, white lights, I used turquoise ornaments with lots of peacock feathers and a fan of them as the star making sure some of the lights hit it at the top. It was festive and brightened the room. This year due to the puppy and a lack of energy, I put the tree on the deck (so she wouldn't mess with it) with just white lights and some red poinsettias stuck in it. It took no time and will be easy enough to take down. The nice thing about the tree it is a blank canvas and you don't even have to get expensive ornaments; they can easily make them too and a great project with kids as well. Have fun with it no matter what decide to do or if not, there's a lot to be said for saving hassle, energy, and cost!

I just can't make a decision until I explore all of my options... |
