I thought this was interesting

It is an idea to create a calendar which adds a week once every 5 years. This allows all holidays to consistantly fall on the same day of the week.

The proponants also state this would effectively eliminate time zones, save consumers billions of dollars in finance charges (accrued interest) and in general make life more efficient for humanity.

I've read about that elsewhere. If it's not broken don't fix it.

What's funny is what the guy's motivation was; he wasn't trying to make things more efficient, he was just too lazy to come up with a new syllabus every semester. I would think creating a new calendar would be far more work...
