I think he better get back to building the economy first. I don't think he will be around when we build anything on the moon. Just my opinion
Thanks for this!

I agree with Open Eyes, colonizing the moon at this point should be very low on our list of priorities, we have far more pressing problems here on Earth.

I liken space travel to construction of the Pyramids of Egypt. Certainly the Pyramids were marvelous feats of engineering, but in the end they did nothing for the people of Egypt, a complete waste of resources and labor which would have been better put to use than to safisfy the ruler's need for a fancy grave.

Space Travel for people (as opposed to robots) will not be possible for a very long time. Not only are there tremendous technical obstacles, but legal ones as well. Until the world can agree to a protocol to determine territorial and property rights to celestrial bodies, there is little or no incentive to engage in the business of colonization.

Moon Colonies like High Speed Rail is a big but silly idea, not a matter of politics, but geography, the US population distribution and layout will severely limit the effectiveness of HSR on a large scale.

He wants to do more than build colonies - he wants the moon to be the 51st state! What will these places be called? Newtist colonies?
Thanks for this!

And bring all the other politicians with him, let them do their bickering somewhere distant, ah, like the moon, yes that is good. LOL then we could just cut off the food source out there, instead of wasting our time tea partying and picketing and we"ll show them how to OUT SOURCE.

LOL!!!honestly it just makes me sick sometimes looking at how FANCY and opulent the state capitol building is, like during the State of the State Address, let alone the stuff in Washington. But then I have house dreams a lot, so it's probably a psychological thing for me.
