Nearing retirement, I've been contemplating moving to FL. But, for example, today we had snow here in WV. I like it! I think I'd miss the change of seasons. Totally another topic, looking at the retirement villages...that is...the ones I could afford I (manufactured homes)...none of them allow fences for pets, and I have two rescued dogs who are accustomed to my fenced yard. Good to investigate all of this and ponder my current situation. I've done all the work here.

seeker, I think manufactured homes are very nice and cute, but they just aren't safe. We have many tornadoes here, not to mention hurricanes. People who live in manufactured homes must evacuate, others do not have to. Most shelters don't take pets.
Are you looking at other homes? There are some good buys. The foreclosure rate is very high due to the economy and the fact that they were grossly over-valued. I wish you success in finding what you want. It is very different here. I have been here 8 years and I still miss the change of seasons a lot. |

Ah! Thanks, Echoes! Yes, I've looked at other residences, and I do see the unbelievable bargains of regular houses. That would be the better choice for me and my pets, if I choose to make a move.
Thanks! Patty ![]() |
