I am not sure where to put this if it does not belong here someone please post it where it belongs. I have an HP officejet 4500 printer when I try to print with it with both the black and color cartrage in it will not print right and say that the cartrage is jammed. If you have just the color cartrage in it prints normal. What can I do to fix this problem?

Could be the ink cartridge is faulty. I assume you've checked its category number matches that of your printer? Easily done when tired and stressed during purchased, I've bought the wrong cartridge and had to return it.
Remove the cartridge, check underneath where the ink jets are and see if there is any cellophane accidentally left. Is there a small plastic tab on it that should be removed to allow both colour and black ink to flow? The only other thing is to turn off the printer, remove cartridge and replace it, then start the printer again. Sorry I don't know what else to do except get a replacement cartridge.

try using the Devices Troubleshooter, use it several times, and if it gives you the option to seek additional Troubleshooting packets online, accept,, do that more than once, sometimes it takes several tries to rebuild the data links....
if that doesn't work,, it's time for a mechanic,, or a new printer, which is probably cheaper,,, hope it's under warrantee~ best wishes,, Gus
