I don't pay much attention to royals. Is it a birthday or an anniversary of her reign? Don't pay attention to the news or watch tv in general or I suppose I would know.

As a US citizen it's hard for me to understand the interest in and enthusiasm for "royalty" but if it makes you happy then by all means enjoy it

I can't stand the royals. I hate that people pander to such a vast waste of public money. In a time when everybody is living on the breadline, and a time when we're already blowing stupid amounts of tax money on the Olympics, its a ridiculous and pointless 'celebration'.
What has she done for us? Seriously? In a modern world where the government make every decision that has an effect on our lives, what does she do? A speech at Xmas and a card if you're unfortunate enough to live to a hundred years old. Woop. 'God save the queen'; two equally outdated and pointless traditions rolled into one dull song. Anyway, as you were...
