Im not surprised fans will do all kinds of things because of their music idols, actors, actresses, crime idols, you name it..my college instructor read about this and he was telling us all kinds of good and bad things done by fans of David Cassidy, Micheal Jackson, Charles Manson, and others. this one cut a pentagram in their arm that one tattoed the idols name on their body, those peirced their ear and wore this idols jewelry, that went out and killed someone that one...the list goes on....

sounds rediculas to some but some people will do anything to show their likes or dislikes for their idols and I can understand where they are coming from... I once would do anything for a few of my favorite singers, actresses....luckily I had the type of parent that cared what I did to myself for the sake of others.

I read it was a hoax and actual fans (not the fake ones who started the whole thing) were taking pictures of themselves cutting paper with scissors and talking about cutting JB's hair, etc. but agree it was a sick idea and that cutting and teens should not be joked about.

I believe Perna is correct, a couple of sites have proven that many of the pictures of people self harming that were put on twitter were pictures that already existed on the internet. It seems it was all some sick joke that makes light of a problem some people seriously suffer with.

yes and sadly here in NY a few teens did actually believed they were vampires and attempted to bite others, in these cases an adult made the statement ...if you keep watching those kind of movies you will turn into one.. like a parent states something like keep frowning or crying your face will freeze that way...and some kids/teens think you can get pregnant from a toilet seat and other false beliefs/wives tales that kids/teens end up believing it even thought parents mean it as a joke. well these kids believed it and tried to bite each other thinking they were vampires from watching the movie / wanted to become one.. the end result the crisis center got many calls. now we add taking about old wives tales and false beliefs with in our discussions with teens at the schools.

As far as I know it's another trick by 4chan.
For those who are not familiar with 4chan (if there are people who aren't), I really don't recommend visiting it, unless You're ready for some shocking content.

Ah, 4chan...it's like the sewer of the Internet. It all runs there eventually.

Somehow not surprised it came from there.
