Well I need new tires on my van. Got quotes on two different tires. One type of tire is a Primewell Valera Touring BL 50,000 mile Limited Warranty with alignment...it would cost me $405. The other kind of tire is Firestone Affinity Touring BL 70,000mile Limited Warranty with alignment is $512.00. what tires do yall think i should get? P.S. tried to look up reviews for both of these tires online without much luck.

you may want to call a few reputable tire shops and ask about the tires, which they would recomend and what their customers think after they have been installed.
Most tires made now days are solid and dependable, a result of a lot of competition. Harder tires disapate heat better and as a consequence have a longer tread life. On the other hand the ride and handling is not as good. Soft tires give you better grip, and in many cases a smoother ride, but come at the expense of longevity. You may want to consider how you use your van and what sort of driving you do. If your regular commute is short and has a lot of stop and go, the softer tires might work better, as they heat up more quickly, for longer commutes the harder ones may give you better treadlife since they heat up much more slowly (heat and friction are the main destroyers of tread) Either way just make sure the shop does a proper job installing, balancing and aligning the tires, be extra attentive after you drive off. Make sure to inquire about free balancing after you purchase. |

Try looking up the tire rack online. They will drop ship tires to the shop of your choice.

One thing we have found most helpful is to use a tire store that puts a warranty on the life of the tire. Then, if they don't last and have to be replaced for pretty much any reason surprisingly, they credit you for the amount of time that should have still been left on the life of the old tire and the new tire is not quite as expensive. Has saved us loads of money over the years. The chain we use is Discount Tires. I think other chains like NTB have similar warranties.

I have a Dodge 1500 Hemi.....had to get new tires a couple of years ago & almost died at the prices.....but I ended up finding a brand that was made in the US called Cooper......they have worn well. Some people don't like that brand of tire, but IMO, if they wear well & don't cost as much as the name brands....I don't see a reason not to use them. Not sure if they make a van tire or not....
