A cell phone company, acting on the orders of Alameda County, went to work this week to make a 60-foot-tall transmission tower in Castro Valley look more like what it is supposed to look like - a tree - and less like what residents complain it resembles, which is a giant phallus.

Ha! Freud would get a kick out of this one. At one point I thought some of the containers for women's deodorant looked very phallic. I thought that was done intentionally!
Thanks for this!

Cute story, in the town of Gaffney, SC, the water tower which is visible from the interstate was painted with the intention of making it look like a giant peach (SC is well known for its Peach Trees) unfortunately it ended up looking like a giant butt, mooning people as they commuted back and forth everyday.

If they think that's bad...what about Brno's infamous clock tower? It's often referred to as....the clock tower, without the L. Don't ask me how to tell time on that thing.

I remember when I lived in Laurel, Maryland and they had "Whiskey Road Elementary School" which eventually, in the last 10-15 years got changed to "North Laurel. . ." I think it was.

Sounds like a big hulabaloo over nothing - to me it just looks like a pole...the peach monument was funny though
