Hi Shattered....this worked for ants and to some extent houseflys [which in particular are my arch enemies...grrr...I hates 'em...!] I initially was overrun by ants and decided to fill a shallow dish with cola [I used pepsi] and put it a ways from any windows outside. You can put some tinfoil loosely over the dish and weight it with something so rain won't dilute it. All kinds of sugar loving flying things are attracted to this and the ants especially seemed to bugger off. I noticed a reduction in houseflys in here this year after doing so as well.

Doesn't take much pepsi as when it evaporates the sugars are still present. Keeping it topped up might be best tho. Two or 3 plates in diff. locations will be even better i think. One can goes a long way and before ya knows it? Fall and winter will be here and NO BUGS....yeee-haw!!! Arghhh....sometimes I'd like to get a baseball bat and chase 'em about but that might be heck on the furniture....don't recommend that route...
