Finnish!!!! It literally soothes my soul - but it might be connected to the fact that I'm Finnish and cannot speak the language. My mother never taught me, but my grandmother loved me very much. Unfortunately, only my heart remembers her (she died when I was 2). Even someone speaking English with a Finnish accent is soothing to me.

I also love Spanish. I love it when my MIL calls me "mija."

Oh yeah - English (American). I remember being in Finland with my mom and desperately longing to hear the sound of the only language I can fully understand.

Good one, JD! I'm partial to English--although I think French is nice, too. My son is taking Latin in college, and his prof even has the students speaking it some. I now know that the way we pronounce some of the Latin expressions used in our world today is incorrect!
Thanks for this!

I enjoyed taking Latin in college even though I can't remember any of it now.

When I was little I told my brother I wish I knew what the trees were saying. He looked at me like I was nuts and said "Trees don't talk!" He said what I was hearing was the wind moving through the leaves. I thought the trees were talking to God and to each other, and I wanted to know what they were saying.
