I volunteered for 3 years on my psych hospital's telephone support line, but then took a year off because my own life was out of control. Now that I'm in a relatively good space again, I want to go back to volunteering there. I'm meeting with the volunteer coordinator next Thurs. to talk about going back on the revamped phone lines, but she also suggested that I teach a knitting class. Might be kind of fun.

That's a great idea! I don't know how to knit, except "knit and pearl," but I crochet up a storm! Very relaxing and a great pasttime!

It's a great idea, but how do you teach without using those sharp needle things? In the hospital I usually end up in, they won't allow anything like that.

This is a awesome idea SplitImage. I think it is wonderful of you to want to give back. You are an inspiration to me. I hope I get there some day again myself.
