The top seeds are Roger Federer and Victoria Azarenka. The women's favorite is the 4th seed, Serena Williams, based on her Wimbledon and Olympics victories. I think the men's final will be between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, though Djokovic has a tough draw. Federer is still a force but is also in a tough section of the draw which could tire him out and leave him vulnerable in the latter stages of the tournament.

Any picks or fan faves?

I've appreciated the way the draw is laid out this time with the top players more spread out. I am glad to see more unranked players in the draw, almost like wild cards in a way for some fresh blood. It will be curious to see how it all unfolds as the tournament progresses, and will be anxiously and excitedly watching.

U.S. Open (tennis) starts Monday, August 27th
