Tonight's the night! I don't have an actual costume, but I'm going to wear a Halloween-themed shirt and put on some blood-red lipstick and some nail polish--I could go with neon orange and green, or glow-in-the-dark (except I don't expect to be in the dark), or maybe a difference neon color for each nail (I think I have five colors of neons by Manic Panic--you can get them at their website, http://www.manicpanic.com/ or get them cheaper at http://www.partycity.com/).

My mom gives me that tone of voice she has when she thinks what I'm doing is silly or childish or wrong, or whatever she's thinking when she gets that tone. She's like that about dressing up for Halloween. She actually gets embarrassed when I dress up for Halloween (not even a costume--one year it was makeup and some Halloween stickers and black nail polish), especially if we go out somewhere together. It doesn't stop me, but it does irritate me a bit that she acts that way on a day when everyone else is dressing up, too!

Have fun tonight!

In the country & in the farm area, they don't do like in the city...our church has the trunk or treat set up in the parking lot where we go & all the kids come there or they go into our little town where all the shop owners have their businesses open & give out candy....not at all like I remember growing up in Los Angeles.

I didn't make it to the trunk or treat....it's been so cold.....I just didn't feel like getting out in the cold weather....stayed home, cleaning up my family room so I have a place for my plants to bring them in so they don't freeze tonight......it's supposed to be down in the 20's.......

I am NOT ready for winter yet....have space heaters going in all the rooms I'm in...not willing to turn on the heat pump yet. Cold hit 2 weeks ago......way too early this year but it definitely wasn't inviting to go out into the cold to do anything for Halloween......so I stayed home & painted on my pumpkins some really cool pictures I found for Halloween. They look really great painted on pumpkins....I just didn't want to carve the pumpkins & have them spoil so quickly. Was thinking about painting on a goofey face...but like the paintings better:
Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween!

& this one for fall:
Happy Halloween!

Eskie, that sounds like a fun way to safely do Trick-or-Treat. I've thought cities should get a group of people to set up a Halloween party in a large building, and the kids could go to the party and also go trick-or-treating from person to person (of course, all the people will have been checked out as well as possible to make sure they're good, and the candy will also have been checked). And I just thought of one more thing...for us slightly older folks, remember how much you hated it when your parents made you wear a coat over your costume when it was especially cold on Halloween? Doing it indoors would eliminate the need for that!

I don't blame you about the cold, though. I dread winter. I had class yesterday and so didn't want to go out in that cold!

Your horses must have been so wonderful. I love animals, but I've never ridden a horse. Love your horse Halloween graphic.
