I'd really like to go on vacation next summer, but the thing is... as of right now, I don't have anyone to go with. I feel too old to go with my parents (I'm 23), and the last times we went together we started getting on each other's nerves quickly, so I'd like to avoid that next time. And out of my two close friends, one already has plans with her boyfriend and the other simply hasn't had the money or time to go on vacation for years. (She has plans for next year with another friend, but I suspect with her being constantly broke and stressed they won't come true, either.)

So, yeah, I don't know what to do. I've considered going alone, but I would get bored and lonely after a while. And I know there are group vacations for singles and stuff, but I haven't found anything satisfactory in that department yet.

It's frustrating, because I have a lot of time on my hands and I think a nice vacation would really cheer me up, but what can you do...

Anyone ever been in a similar situation or have any advice?

neighbor? classmate (if you are in grad school)? extended family (cousin, neice, etc)?

it dossn't have to be lonely... just make sure that you have enough planned. It might be kinda of peaceful to have some time to relax, alone.
