Does anyone here cope with things by drawing, writing or playing guitar? These are some things I like to do. Seems to help sometimes.

Yes. I draw and make other forms of art, and I also write. I journal, blog, write. Essays, articles, novels, short stories, poetry. Helps me feel like my world's a little bigger.

I take photos, and creatively editing them is really a helpful stress reliever...I also do a lot of journal writing. I used to write poetry, but I seem to have permanent writer's block.
Thanks for this!

I do - I'm a guitarist, and without my guitar(s), I'm sure I'd have lost my mind, many years ago.

I have to do something creative or I just don't feel right. I know when I am getting depressed because I just kinda freeze up. When I start doing something be it writing or just crafting I feel better for sure.

I am a writer. I love to write. It's the one thing that has been constant in my life (by that I mean that most of my other interests/hobbies change very frequently). When I'm depressed, writing actually helps alleviate the symptoms. I get lost in the world, though. (But I don't think that's always a bad thing. Sometimes it makes life a bit more bearable)

I love creativity and can appreciate all forms of it. I used to draw, too, but stopped after some time. Just got over it. Happens with me sometimes.

I write music. I sing and play guitar. Wrote my first song at fifteen and I've written a lot since then.
It's a passion and an escape.

I draw, and I do photography. I have an extensive collection on deviantArt, a lot of which were photos that I took when I was really depressed. It's definitely like a sort of therapy for me.

I used to do all of that, drawing, painting, clay, writing.....but lately I do none of it. A few years ago I got to do my lifelong desire and go to school for art & then physical issues interfered and I had to drop it all. I have all the supplies here at home but no initiative any more.

We sound a lot alike. I am a writer as well, and say that before I say anything else about myself (I major in biology/physics... but writer comes out first). It was, and is, my "one true love". I can live happily never having a significant other and knowing that I have a notebook to write in, and a keyboard to type on.

Writing has been my ONE truly healthy coping mechanism, as I am free to be me and bring ideas and such to life, even if they're only alive to me. Writing is such a gift to us all, I think. It can really be universal.
