Well, while I'm playing silly games here on PC I hear a smash in the kitchen. I jokingly said that must be one of the dogs helping themselves to something to eat. I said it jokingly because I knew there wasn't any food left out.

But... my collies are clever and they opened the fridge with a nose and there was food carefully placed on the floor all around. Yes, they left what they didn't want and pulled out the turkey at the back of the fridge!

Lassie!!! Too funny! I read that the original Timmy from Lassie is writing 2 books - Timmy is in the well (because that's the one place he never was) and Timmy's in the kitchen, a cookbook.

It was so nice of you to share Christmas dinner with them. I am not sure whether to chuckle or shed some tears for you. My heart goes out to you though as I can relate.

The morning of Thanksgiving one year, my lab figured out also how to open the fridge door. Didn't go for the raw turkey, thankfully with those bones, but took the ham and some of the other preparations before I was supposed to have 20 people over. He survived but waddled around for two days, quite a sight and the vet said he would be ok. From that point on I had to keep a child safety lock or bungy cord on the door because he actually kept trying when I would leave the room. So please keep that in mind just in case.

Maybe next year you should make a tofu turkey instead! I'm sure the dogs won't bother that!
