Here’s a Countries of the World quiz that someone sent me on Tumblr.

You have to name all 197 countries (spelling their names correctly) in 15 minutes or less on the blank world map provided.

Politics, World Issues, and Geography have always been subjects I have excelled at, and because I can already recite all the world’s capital cities in alphabetical order, this quiz was a no brainer for me . I named all 197 countries with more than 4 minutes to spare .

Contrary to what people think about me, tarantulas, insects, spiders, etc. are not my main passion, because what really interests me are politics and world issues. A considerable amount of my time is devoted to political activism, writing, studying, reading, etc., and I like to joke that politics is life for me .

That's pretty cool...I doubt I'll be able to do it...I'm an old world person and will probably name some that no longer exist, but I definitely wouldn't mind trying it.

I have no chance of completing the list in fifteen minutes. The countries with "Stan" at the end, I can' t even spell them!

I'm not even going to try, Mr. V.! I never could learn them all. I can't even fill in all the states in the U.S. correctly!

That and about 2-3 weeks of practice before we get to the world.

Haha I think I have a 'photographic' memory . After all I do have 30 feet of world maps and have spent a considerable amount of time looking over world maps with LED lights and a magnifying glass .

I can do all the capital cities in alphabetical order too!

To do this quiz I find it is best if I do the hardest countries to remember (or the ones most easily overlooked) first, such as Monaco, San Marino, Andorra, St. Lucia, Tonga, Micronesia, Sao Tome and Principe, Nauru, Samoa, Tuvalu, Marshall Islands, Seychelles, Mauritius, Cape Verde, St. Vincent, Vanuatu, Dominica, etc.

I think I need to do some more studying...haha

I couldn't type fast enough (brain got in the way...and some I had trouble remembering how to spell them! ) Good game! Helps to remember them.
