Winter storm Khan is causing icy problems in South, Midwest, Eastern US.

When I was drinking my coffee this morning at 10am the weather was clear and I planned to drive to town (20 miles) to get my CBC so I can pick up my clozapine Rx but an hour later it was snowing vigorously so I abandoned that plan and instead drove 3 miles to stock up on groceries. The roads here are slushy and slippery and someone in the grocer said the roads were worse in town so I was glad I didn't go there. 22 degrees now. I hope we don't lose our electricity. We expect 5 inches of snow here but it is a light fluffy snow so hopefully it won't be too heavy on trees by power lines.

So far 911 metro dispatch reports 39 traffic accidents in the county today and ask people to avoid driving. I hope my two sisters make it home safely.

Be safe everyone.

"Khan" or "Khaaaaaaannn!" if you prefer, passed by here as well no major damage as far as trees or power lines but you could ice skate on the nearby street, so I will be indoors this AM and have to miss my morning Karate class

We only got two inches of snow so Friday it was slippery but Saturday main roads were clear. Friday my basket of groceries started sliding in the parking lot and some nice girl helped me get my basket to my car; I have poor coordination and really appreciated the help. She said she couldn't not help me and worry I would fall. I am 54 y/o now so guess I'm a seasoned citizen. Yay for seniors' discounts.

More snow coming Monday so I'll try to beat it into town to get my CBC so I can pick up my clozapine. Wishing I had a condo in Florida or somewhere warm.

Thanks for the update. I didn't know the storm had a name. We're supposed to get hit in Ohio later tonight.
