Who could beat who?
We used to have these "debates" back in the day mostly about comic book characters. I thought it would be fun to revive this tradition in a more modern day vernacular. So I thought I would post a few, just for fun, thoughts anyone? 1). Blade Vs The Cullen Family (Twilight) ![]() ![]() Blade has been charged with hunting down the Cullens (Twilight’s Vampire Family) and taking them out once and for all, because frankly they are vapid and annoying. For this endeavor Blade goes it alone, but gets full use of his weapons. Who wins? My money is on Blade for several reasons. 1) He has an arsenal of weapons specifically engineered to kill Vampires. 2) He possesses all of the strengths of a Vampire with none of the vulnerabilities. 3). He has suffered from racism on two levels, one for being an African-American, two for being half vampire, so he is incredibly angry. 2). Leverage Inc versus the A-Team ![]() ![]() The Situation: A husband and wife are screwed over by an “above the law multimillionaire”. The husband hires Hannibal Smith and the A Team, the wife hires Nate Ford and the Leverage Team, which group will take down the wrong doer first. Tough call, Both groups have formidable skill sets, but the Leverage team has access to far superior technology (as a rule the A Team must use 80’s technology) On the other hand the A Team has a lot of firepower (They are not good shots though) How will this one go, a tossup? 3) Fringe Vs X-Files ![]() ![]() The Situation: Some mysterious phenomenon appears from no where, leaves dead bodies and slimy goo all over the place. Due to bad communication the FBI deploys agents Mulder/ Skully and the Fringe division to get to the bottom of the mystery. Who will solve this one first. The X files team will be allowed some additional support from the Lone Gunman, due to Fringe team’s larger size. Good matchup here. Can Skully match the Super Genius of mad scientist Walter Bishop? Can Mulder deal with a hyper focused Olivia Dunham? Close one but I give it to Fringe, especially if the phenomenon in question involves a parallel universe. 3) Nathan Drake Vs Laura Croft ![]() ![]() The Situation: Video gaming’s most famous treasure hunters are charged with finding a lost relic in an ancient temple in the middle of un mapped jungle. It is Laura’s breeding and education versus Drake’s superior parkour skills and quick wit, which gets to the treasure first? My money is on Drake. Although Laura has a number of advantages, wealth, a fabulous home base and a support team, I believe that Drake, much like Indiana Jones and John Maclean (Diehard) will find a way to overcome long odds and win at the last moment and in some spectacular fashion with lots of things collapsing and blowing up. If that does not work, Drake can employ his sly wit and snarky charm to woo the ever lovely lady Laura. 4) Kobe Bryant versus Michael Jordon ![]() ![]() Kobe, tired of all the comparisons and arguments, decides to settle matters once and for all. He builds a time machine, goes back to 1994 and challenges Jordon to a game of one on one to find out once and for all, no excuses as to who has the maddest skills. I will let our sports fanatics debate this one J 5) Jason Statham versus Ryan Reynolds ![]() ![]() Jason Statham has challenged Reynolds to a contest, which one can crack the most rocks with their Ab Muscles only. Too close to call on this one. All right, what do you brilliant and awesome folks on pysch central think? and be free to add some more. Last edited by Timgt5; Nov 20, 2011 at 06:36 AM. |

and one more:
6) David Mustaine vs Banshee (X Men First Class) ![]() ![]() An asteroid is heading for New York, scientists conclude that the only way to stop the menacing space rock is to employ a massive sonic wave to break it up before it lands. Banshee, the X Men's human sonic cannon is sent into the atmosphere. Megadeth Singer and guitarist Dave Mustaine is flown up on a C-130 carrying his guitar and a wall of Marshall Stacks, which approach will succeed |

I'd go Dave. Banshee was a bit, well, wet? in my opinion.
I'd trust Dave to make more noise that any asteroid could cope with. Remember Peace Sells ..... ![]() |

OK, now I'll answer the rest.
1. Blade Vs The Cullen Family (Twilight) Please god, let it be Blade. I'd go Blade anytime, but he is outnumbered in this one. 2. Leverage Inc versus the A-Team We never got Leverage Inc in the UK. I'll go A Team cos Hannibal always has a plan 3. Nathan Drake Vs Laura Croft Haven't played Uncharted yet, but I'll go Lara Croft. If only for the OMG, WTF moment I had when the underwater pyramid was first revealed when playing TR1. 4. Kobe Bryant versus Michael Jordon No idea, don't know basketball. I'm quite impressed I've actually heard both names before ![]() 5. Jason Statham versus Ryan Reynolds I'll go with Jason. He's a Brit and wasn't Green Lantern ![]() |

Have to go XMen on that one. Superheroes should beat dudes with guns easy.
Although Hannibal vs Prof X as a battle of the brains could be interesting as long as Prof X wasn't allowed to use his mind-fiddling skills. |

Blade may be out numbered, but he has taken long odds before and come out the winner. If it is an enclosed environment Blade gets this in a walk below is Blade taking out a nightclub full of vampires. Leverage and the A Team, would be good match up. Nathan Ford also has a plan, usually a very sophisticated one at that, he is not called a mastermind for nothing. I think the key for Leverage is their proficent use of technology. Nathan Drake vs Laura Croft. In Drakes Deception, Nathan went up against a wealthy woman and through guile, and frankly some crazy luck he came out on top. Laura Croft maybe a great character, but in terms of production and gameplay, Uncharted is a much better series (so far) Jordon vs Bryant-still undecided. |
