why does music have to be stuck in my head for so many years? I hate that. When I listen to songs like skyfall by adele and too close by alex clare, they seem to have such a strong effect on me. It's like those songs are just glue that won't come off. Once you apply some to your skin, it sticks til you get a razor or something to scrape it off. It's so weird when it comes to music. Does this have to go all the way back to the time when i loved music as a child? My dad was teh one who exposed me to music when I was a kid and ever since I've loved music, but the thing about this is that the more you listen to them, the more familiar you get with them. I know that it's normal, but not too familiar in the sense that I sometimes hear them when I'm not doing anything. Then sometimes it just disappears when you don't really expect them to. Sometimes you love them being there, it's as though there's a presence around you. Is there something wrong with me because I haven't listened to rock music in a long time. Seriously rock music is pretty evil now that I think about it. As I used the words "Now that..." that evanescence song just came up. how do you like that? it goes now that i know what i'm without... ugh..

Music affects us on so many levels, emotionally, spiritually, chemically, personally, etc.
Our brain can store music for a very long time. Take a dementia patient, they can't remember people they love, but can sing songs from over 50 years ago. When I was in high school I used to study by putting the material into songs. The key to getting a song unstuck from your brain is to play another song louder. |
