I have been doin' my family history for a few years now.

Do any of y'all do any genealogy research for your ancestors?

I have found that my heritage consists of English, German, Swedish, and Norwegian.

What does your heritage consist of?

Count me in Fluttrbye! My father's side is French Canadian, Scottish and Iris. My mother's side is German and Irish.

My Daddy's family was pretty closed mouthed about their background. I managed to find the record of when my grandfather emigrated to the US. So far I haven't found much info about his mother.

A relative did an extensive search of the German ancestors on my Mom's side. I've been able to trace some of her Irish ancestors.

Have you tried the LDS website? They have tons of information available for free. What sites do you like to use?
Thanks for this!

I use several FREE sites. Among them are:

Online Searchable Death Indexes, Records & Obituaries
Find A Grave - Millions of Cemetery Records
Genealogy, Family Trees & Family History Records at Ancestry.com (only searches are free-results are not)
DonsList City Directories
RootsWeb.com Home Page

Oh my goodness...
Fluttrbye; I have always been interested in tracking back roots,

I remember i was told that my grandmother had a bible that had a family tree- I always wanted a copy of the page.
Then with my dad. it was really hard. due to i think he had limited information himself, and for his moms side, it is just her name he knew when he was 5.

But just by using one of your sites you listed..... I think I found my great, great grandma ... was not till I saw her son's name and that would had been my dad's grantpa that was her son...... he raised my dad and he used to talk about him often.. and it was one of those names that i just thought were odd, as well his uncle's name is odd to me... so they sort of stick out

thanks for the link.. interesting indeed

Edit
Actually i had a few hours to waste i found out more in that few hours than i ever would had from talking to my parents... the search shall continue on down time
I think it would be neat to give my sisters (for their kids) some information... I even found some "clippings" from the town news paper that we were born in of our entries think that may be a little fun too...

I tried to get into it years ago, but my family is not forthcoming with information on other members. I do know that I have Irish, English, Scottish, Australian, German, and Lenape and Cherokee Indian in me.
