I'd like to start off and say, everyone has music that they listen to more often than not, and sure most of us try to be open minded and listen to more than just our favorites, but if you had to pin it down to just one genre, or one kind of music what would it be?

Classic Rock... though I have been listening to a certain country music musician WAY too much recently.... (I might need an intervention soon)

I am ecclectic. I like a bit of everything from big band to classical, to rock to motown, to country to standard pop to jazz and blues, choral, broadway, swing, everything. It all depends on my mood of the moment.

I agree, but I favor '80's pop music more than not.
Thanks for this!

I like it all, but my favorite genre is folk music. Having said that, every day I listen to punk before work, and classical at bedtime.

Ooh, that's a toughie. I did a six year stint in a record store, which broadened my musical horizons significantly. But if I had to pick one genre, I'd have to say downtempo electronic. It chills me out.

It's hard for me to answer since I never really like entire genres, just different bands that I hear from them. I like psychedelic rock and electronic/ambience music (like the band M83)

I guess if I had to pick one to try and explain my taste in music I would say that it mostly falls under the umbrella of 'alternative', leaning towards more punk-y styles

For me, it's probably Heavy Rock / Goth / Metal. Been listening to far too much Rammstein (German Industrial Metal) recently. Can't understand a word they say, but it's therapeutic for some reason. (my head is a very strange place!)

I really don't know. But I do get stuck in the 80s. Can't keep up with all the new artists on the radio these days

Depending on the mood really, however if i had to choose only one genre that would have to be blues.

i'm probably 1 of the most open people to music, i listen to most things.. country, rock, rap, dance music, broadway, latino, the only thing that really anoys me is opera music, but i do apreciate what those singers can do with their voices- so i think what i'd say is, even if i don't like it- i apreciate what they can do

Rock, but some people would call some of the bands I like emo, but they aren't.
It's obvious who my favourite band is though

The music I like is underground, political rap/hip-hop. Artists such as Immortal Technique, Sun Rise Above, Hasan Salaam, Mohammad Dangerfield, Da Circle, Diabolic, Lowkey, Rockin' Squat, Brother Ali, etc. have some wickedly political songs, and I love that because politics is my life.

Hey Mr. V...are you into Dead Prez at all? More political than underground, but political nonetheless...

I can appreciate at least a little bit from every genre of music honestly. Preferably, though, I would say I am usually found listening to: Metal,Punk,Classic Rock, Techno, Industrial, and Grunge

Eh, not really, although I do know of them. Just haven't been able to get into their music

I go all over the spectrum, but I dearly love Coldplay, E.S. Posthumus, SOAD, Damien Rice, Muse, Death Cab for Cutie, Elvis Costello, Enya and Loreena McKennitt.
