okay... so yeah, i got this idea for a thread from the hospital stories thread.. so i thought i'd follow with another theme

funny childhood stories- we all must have done some pretty funny things as a kid

so i'll start with 1 of mine..

every christmas, without fail, i'd run in to my mom's room saying.. mommy mommy, barbins bitbins has been!

what ever made me call santa barbins bitbins, i do not know.. but yep. i did!. it was hilarious!

their was also the time where i was using my painting easel, it fell forward- and paint splattered all over the lounge floor.

My grandmother came to this country as a small child and she spoke broken English. We would sit at the kitchen table visiting and she used to tell me to shut the cellar door because there was a draft down there. I always thought she was saying "giraffe". I figured it must be a mean giraffe if she had to keep it closed up in the basement. I was always afraid to go down there to use the bathroom because I thought the mean giraffe would get me.

I am from dutch background, and my parents and grandparents came from a small rural area. Hence their own diolect. So we grew up calling our grandmother Opoe and grandfather Opa. My brother when he was very lttle, I am told, would run to the door in excitement and stutter poopoe.

I have some of my own and will share later... but this one from my daughter at about age four has to be the best... from the back seat of the car.... "Mommy, are all ANTS American?" ... I just about drove off the road.... ROFL

I've got a couple that come to mind.
When I was about 7 it snowed. That's a rarity. I woke up and saw the snow and was so excited that I ran outside and started playing in it. It took about 15 minutes to realize I was only wearing my underwear
There was also the little frou frou French girl in first grade who insisted on being my girlfriend but that's a longish story.

When I was a kid, I saw my friends parents smoking so I figured that I'll try it as well. I got an A4 sheet of paper, grabbed a couple handfulls of grass from my lawn, rolled it up, lit it on fire and inhaled deeply without even blowing the fire out..... My lungs.. They burned..

My childhood was very kind and secure... we always had a nanny to take care of us.. Well can't exactly remember what my parents had ordered... maybe furniture... So little me is crating a huge house complex from the boxes and had several friends over... I also created a Sauna with candles inside one of the cardboard boxes with all of my little friends nick naked with me... good thing I also had planned for a bucket of water and a ladle when the little cardboard sauna caught on fire.....My nanny Seija and my parents were livid!!!!! ROFL I think I was 5 years....

another one of mine:

i was about 10, and a group of us went rafting at a pond nearby- and well, to put it short... i fell in to the pond and had to swim back to the shore with all the clothes on (shoes as well!)

when i finally got back to the shore, the leader of the group told us that we were going to have a picnic.. so i had to litirally take all my clothes off, put them in the raft to dry, and have my picnic naked. sitting in a large field- it was well embarrasing
