I have so many friends here in a wide variety of interests so decided here in general would be best place to post. If you happen to read this would you please pass the location of this post along.

My most fav. Dr. (not counting my Pdoc) slit my thoat (to remove 3 large bone spurs pushing againstthe spinal column in my neck). I can look at the ceiling or store things above shoulder height with no pain. I was in a neck brace for a month but now "I'm free, I'm free at last" sort of

On May 23rd, I'll be under going what my Dr. calls severe back surgery, envolving at lot of post op pain. Testing they did, found my lower back slips sideways (not back and forth) up to 1/4 inch. Dr assures me after they insert a series rods, plates, & spring like thingys I'll eventually be pain free and able to walk.

The reason I'm posting here is to let you all know it could be awhile before I will be able to post. I'll be in the hosp. at least 5 days flat on my back and wearing a back brace. After that all bets are off.

I'll probably post on facebook before I get back here because that's how my family know what I'm up to.

To all of you that I have had the privilage of posting with, listening to, and sharing with you will all remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Kebs, so glad the neck surgery went well. Now I must wish you many blessings with the upcoming surgery. I hope all goes well and that you heal quickly. We look forward to when you can tell us how you are.

Omg. At first when heard doc slit your throat thought we should throw him in jail. Definitely my prayers are with you. Sounds like you have a good surgeon which is awesome. And a great attitude which is priceless, but i guess frogs usually do. Kermit is one of my heroes. Still take care. Surgery is a b***** and it aint easy being green. Hugs. May angels surround you.

Krebs The first thought when I read your Dr slit your throat was that he was going to throw you in a pot of water & cook you for your frog's legs.

All kidding aside.

My prayers are with you on your up coming surgery & I am so glad that your last neck surgery went so well. I can relate to having that neck brace on for so long. I had neck fusion back in 1999 & had to wear that neck brace for over a month. It was horrible because my desire to get back on my horse was so great & sat there watching the horse camp that everyone else was participating in....it was more torture than any surgery.

I know your back surgery is going to be complicated & will take quite awhile recovering.....praying for God's care & healing

Thank you kindly for your warm thoughts and prayers.

Today I was measured for my back brace. Once approved by my ins. I'll either pick it up or they make sure it is at the hosp. for after surgery.

surgery is 4 hours long starting at 8 am, then post op and recovery. Dr. says you will be on your back for 3 - 5 days. Today nurse said they will try (operative word "try") to get me on my feet same day as surgery.

The lastest family joke "How mamy emt's does it take to lift a 200 lb frog of little brain upright from the floor?" this happened when I slid off my bed in the middle of the night and slept there until morning. Answer is 3. now you figure where each emt was located. (No not my froggy legs )

Gee, just think in 12 days I'll never again be able to pass through the metal detectors at the airports without being frisked by homeland security. Pat me down "PLEASE"

Thank you all again for your warm thoughts and wishes..

Kebs

You make me laught frog of little brains. What an attitude you have frogfriend!
I love your discription of the hardware, expecially the springy things! What else would we expect for frog of little brains? You need a spring to your steps.

May 23 just happens to be someone's birthday that I know well so I'll be praying and thinking of you both. Speedy recovery.

I'm not sure how I've missed meeting up with you until now, kebsfroggy, but the throat-slitting grabbed my attention as it did that of all your friends. For a frog of little brain, you sure can "break" a story!

I have similar neck issues that acupuncture treats so far. You are blessed, I can tell, with a doctor you trust entirely and that is magic. I will be thinking of you and following along as you go through the pain, boredom, and eternity of recovery ... prayers, good thoughts, pro-froggy vibes, all those good things I am sending to the universe to find you.

I've enjoyed your albums and look forward to getting to know you & that sense of humor better once you're on the mend and back here with us.

Dear frog of little brain........you'll be missed big time while you're out of commission. Now that your neck surgery is behind you, there's just one more hurdle (albeit a big one!) for you to jump over. Thank you so much for letting us know. Wishing you a good outcome and a speedy recovery.......got to get you back on that lily pad soon! Thinking of you and awaiting your return.......hugs and grey

Dear Kebsfroggy,

May the doctors find their work easy.
May they perform it with skill.
May you get good rest.
May you heal well.
May the "after" of this adventure be oh so much better than the "before."

Until then...

Kebs! I just read your post. I want to know how you are doing!
I have severe neck pain myself, have been diagnosed with
spinal stenosis, and just try to live with it. At times it is bad; other times
bearable. Neck surgery sounds scary!

Once again "Thanks" very much to all for your thoughts and prayers.
Even with all the vallium and mood stablizers my insides still feel like a large mound of wiggly, giggly, sqiggly thingys like those in si-fi movies (Men in Black II). And that mound keeps getting bigger and bigger with each day.

Hope by the time I arrive at the hospital the doctor's will be able to find me in all that mess.

It will be okay Kebs. I have had five back surgeries and have titanium rods, screws, and cages in my back. I had to relearn to walk again, but I was determined to get back on that horse. They told me I couldn't walk without crutches for 12 weeks. I did it in 4. I have all kinds of faith in you Kebs. I will keep you in my prayers.
