Right now im feeling foolish for a few months ago I bought a beer brewing kit and my aim was to brew it in the spring only I recently realised that my mum put it and its contents in the garden and now it is ruined and then a couple of days ago I went to Leicester (my nearest city) and was looking at mp3 players and my mum and a friend (both of whom I was with at the time) encouraged me to buy a cheaper not so good one, which ive now decided is rubbish. So ive wasted a load of money there and now I feel low and stupid altho at least I dont regularly waste money so that's good but when something gets to you or upsets you, and makes you feel irritated or stupid, what do u do to cheer yourself up? Do you listen to music, go for a walk, something else???

If I've done something that's made me feel a bit silly and useless (not saying you are, just with low self esteem it's something I go through a lot!), my first step is always thinking about things rationally! Just sitting down and going through the facts of a situation, on paper or mentally, helps me see things in a less "clouded" way - stops me getting caught up in blame, guilt, etc - and then allows me to get on with improving my low mood.

Things that help me the most next are taking a really nice long bath - doing something that's "for me" just makes me feel the love for myself again! Also listening to my favourite upbeat music whilst doing chores helps me shake off the blues, it's a great mix of emotional and psychical positivity! In the long term I'll then focus on things I have to look forward to, or have accomplished, no matter how small. If I was having a really bad day, I'd likely do all of the above and it usually sorts my mood out.

The biggest thing that has helped me is the mental reminder that we all have days like this and it will pass. What features were you seeking in an mp3 player that this one lacked?

As for immediate relaxation...music, a hot bath, a good book, eBay if you are into that to sell the one you don't like to recoup some of the money paid for it. If your friend recommended this mp3 player perhaps your friend would buy it off of you.

Exercise is a good way to release built-up tension in the body.

I like to listen to music, paint, go for a walk. Sometimes I like to write but other times that can be frustrating.

If I can get myself in the mood, I go workout. I feel so refreshed afterwards. I also go to Bible study.

Find humorous things such as movies, books, and jokes. Go out with friends. Eat something decadent. Think of good memories and remember my blessings.

I like to listen to music... either upbeat music, playful music, or mellow music that is not angry. If I listen to angry music then it just makes me feel even more angry... and that's not progressive...

Well I'm going to start going to the movies
I haven't been in years due to the expense.
But since some good movies are out I will change that.
But like today I was frustrated, upset, and crying.
Frustrated with my life & all that.
So I decided to just get out of the house I didn't do much
just rode the bus to a neighboring suburb & went to the store
to buy some hot dogs, a piece of cake, one piece of fried chicken
which I usually don't eat cause I know fried foods is bad for you hence
I bought only the one piece, a chicken thigh my favorite piece.
then I went home.
Doing this seem to make me feel better.
But I'll try to do better on making myself feel better I suffer from depression
& loneliness. A feeling that entirely engulfs you.
Can't wait for the new Superman movie and I want to see
The Great Gatsby with Leonardo Dicaprio. Big fan of the book.

I'm reading posts here bec. it was a great question and hoping to get some inspiration. I don't do anything to cheer myself up - I've tried many things but nothing works. Baths, walks, don't have friends, reading, hike. Oh well. Maybe just accept.

Shopping for something new whether its something cheap like new music or something more pricey like this ukulele I got shipped directly from Hawaii. I can only play twinkle twinkle little star but it got me through a really rough patch.

That and fresh flowers, cut or planted in the summer. The important part of this one is giving them away! I divide them up into smaller portions and give them to coworkers.

That or bringing in food to work to share. When you give stuff away it makes others or around you happy and they compliment/thanks you so that makes you happy!
Thanks for this!
