It's amusing and sad at the same time. I wouldn't want my cat (if I had one) to be freaked out by something I was doing to him.

I had to bathe my cat last summer for fleas...after a few tries I needed to get in the tub with all my clothes on and 2 sweatshirts. Chainsaw for 1st few minutes...She calmed down though. I did NOT let go of her scruff. Damn thing...she's an animal!

Poor Garfield...she was taking her sweet time dunking 'im...was beginning to pzz me off!

It was chuckley tho...Please Lord on High...no fleas this summer ok?

Cats don't need baths unless they have fleas or get into something. I don't understand people like this.

So I have to give my oldest cat a bath once a week related to one of his medical conditions (trust me, it's not for fun). I didn't hear what she was saying, if there was a reason for this bath (because my same cat does NOT like hearing other cats freak out on tv/the Internet, so I had to turn the sound down), but she was definitely not doing a great job. I don't make mine sit in water like that.

Anyway, after my cat freaked out the first 3 or 4 times (which I don't think I was helping with because I was shaking...I felt so bad and was trying not to cry), we have both calmed down and now he is quiet the whole time and doesn't try to escape.

I have actually assisted the vet tech before in giving my cat a bath and seen my cat close his eyes like he does when he sleeps and I could tell his muscles were completely relaxed at the time, so I think he likes the massage and/or warm water ...but they have better cat washing facilities, of course.
So I think that is part of why he is quiet...he is not that miserable now since he knows what to expect when he gets plopped in the tub, although giving up control for a cat is hard anyway.

Mine just decides to turn into drama cat when being dried; then he cries while I am drying him off...which is ridiculous. I am towel drying him as best as I can (and he ADORES being petting) so this can't be that bad, esp. since he gets to shake water all over me. I want to use the hair dryer, but even with a super cool cat, I figure it's best not to push it.

Then he tries to climb into my lap (or onto my computer) still very damp, ha.

That's understandable. I'm talking about people who bathe cats because they think they're like dogs. Cats don't stink like that.

Lol, no they most certainly do not. Most people should bathe their dogs more I have found. And I LOVE dogs . I have just noticed owners seem oblivious to the odor.

Yeah, Silent Void, I didn't think cats needed baths because they bathe themselves, unless they get in a mess or something.

Apparently, dogs don't require bathing (I beg to differ), but if you want to do it, once a month is reasonable: http://www.cesarsway.com/askthevet/b...to-bathe-a-dog

awww, poor cat. but sometimes kitties need baths too. i raised my first cat from about 5 weeks old, and periodically gave him baths. he was a little challenged (bad balance and possibly hard of hearing) so he had trouble bathing sometimes. but when i gave him a bath, he actually seemed to like it and would play if i left the water running. then we would cuddle while he dried off. he was my baby and i miss him

I heard or read somewhere that
cats just hate the water.
I don't know what that is.

I have never heard a cat sound like that...lol
I didn't think that you would be too successful in
getting Tigger into the tub let alone shampoo him/her
You obviously have the Midas touch when giving Tigger
a bath! How on Earth did you rinse Tigger off?
