Today is my bday and I think the people at work forgot. It's no big deal, I'm only 33 but still. Every time it's someone else's bday in our office, I'm the one to coordinate a card, cake and everyone pitching in to get a gift card or a small something. This year- nothing.

I'm not looking for a gift, just someone to say Happy birthday is all!

Maybe it's coming later on in the day? Nope, my boss is out for the day, another coworker left to travel to another office for a meeting and idk where the other is. Looks like its just me.

And tonight I have no plans. I celebrated with my parents yesterday. I feel sad

Happy Birthday........

I have had most of my birthdays like that...my birthday fall in February...my friend goes out of town to visit her mother for her birthday & not having any family......I have nother friend with a birthday at the end of February & we always all get together at the end of the month to celebrate.....always after the fact....my daughter was busy with Girl Scout cookies this year & completely forgot to text....that was ok because I understood the stress she was under with that....only the 2nd time working with it......& my Bible study group ended up celebrating the next week.....& it was 60 this year.

When married, I always had to pick out the restaurant & make the reservations so the celebration has always been on me. Many families just look at birthdays as just another day.....I'm just not really good at that....but at that time of year, I usually don't have money to just do something nice for myself either.

Hope your day starts to look up a bit....maybe you could find a movie that you have wanted to see & go out this evening even if it is by yourself.....sometimes my own company is better than the company I had when I was married & I do enjoy going & doing things by myself at times.

doggiedo. : birthday:

I know where you are coming from except that I did not feel worthy to have my birthday celebrated.

Happy birthday!!

I am glad coworkers do not know my birthday. I don't like having it announced to everybody. Usually, in some retail or food service jobs, they give us the day off for our birthday so we don't face embarrassment all day of being singled out for our birthday to every customer who comes through the door.
Thanks for this!

Happy Birthday

Sorry no one said it at work, I have gone through that, but I liked one of the comments someone said earlier in the thread, do something for yourself. Enjoy yourself even if its a party of one

Aha! So when it comes to the office's DBCC's birthday, there's no one to do it. (DBCC = Designated Birthday Celebration Coordinator)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Doggiedo!

Yea you've got that right. They still owe m for the last bday gift card a few weeks back. Expecting less equals less disappointment in the long run.

No Plans Tonight? ... You take yourself out and treat yourself to a nice birthday dinner somewhere and include dessert ... Tell them to put a candle on it and light it because it's your birthday ... !!!

That's how the Pfrog does it.

Whether or not anybody else celebrates your special day, make sure that YOU do!

Thanks for this!

Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear doggiedo. Happy Birthday to you. I understand how you feel. Last year only one person said Happy Birthday to me. My parents couldn't even be bothered to call. I got a text message that just said Happy Birthday. So when reading my message please imagine those of us at pc singing Happy Birthday to you. Let me say you matter to me and I sincerely hope you have a wonderful year full of good health, happiness, and prosperity.
