Which do you like better? (On me) I dyed my hair yesterday and I'm still not sure how I feel about it, lol. I went from platinum blonde hair to brunette. I had to do it because I just got a new job and during the interview they asked if I'd be willing to change my hair to a more "natural looking tone".

I start the new job tomorrow, I'm excited

blonde vs brunette

blonde vs brunette

I think your new more brunette color looks SPECTACULAR. Platinum blond isn't as popular anymore and its extremely hard on the hair and a lot of maintenance. We own a hair salon. I've always been a medium blond, but as I got older its a bit gray. I darkened the blond a bit because as women get older, too light a color washes the face out.

You have really good quality hair and this color brings out your lovely eyes. Best of luck with your new job. I hope you love it and prosper.

I also like the brunette better! It makes you look younger too as well as bringing out your eyes.

i think that a girl who has blond hair is more attractive than those who aren't. I like blond hair. I've been attracted to girls like that. i'm not saying that girls aren't beautiful just cuhs they're brunettes. It's just that blond is very noticeable.

I like the way the brown isn't too dark. If you ever go back to blond - do a medium two toned golden blond...not platinum. I was surprised several of my daughters 15/16 yr old friends are naturally blond, dying their hair rich brown. When I was younger so many women wanted to be blond, even if it didn't flatter their skin color. You look awesome.

I'm going to vote in favor of brunette for the reasons already given. It flatters your other features.

Lynn, I work with teens. I've also been surprised lately by the number of blonde females dying their hair brown.
Thanks for this!

Either one, which one do you like the most? Let us know after you wear it for a bit, see how it will suit you and the upkeep of it. My friend went from strawberry blonde, to brunette and said the maintenance was drama for her.....

warm regards
Jade

the brunette is far more natural looking, it is not natural to have such blonde hair unless you are a young child or albino! when work collegues are forming initial opinions of you they are more likeky to 'trust' the brunette as it is obvious the blonde is hiding things (the real colour of her hair for one thing)
if you are looking to pull a guy however, most prefer a blonde.

personally you look beautiful whichever you decide and any guy worth his salt would see past the colour of your hair and see and be attracted to whatever is on the inside of you. just steer away from those attracted to your blood, they are vampires!

I love the brunette hair. It just makes you look more soft and friendly(if that makes sense). The brown also matches the color of your eyes and eyebrows. I can spot dyed hair on most people but the brown looks natural on you. Dying your hair blonde looks best on people who are natural gingers, and vice versa(mostly, in my opinion, but there are exceptions). I have noticed people with certain hair colors have similar skin tones and eye colors as another hair color. I'm curious, what is your natural hair color?
Thanks for this!

I like the brown. It brightens up your eyes and skin color. I am a dark blonde. Great in between color without being too brown or too blonde.

Why has no one mentioned the fact that her work made her do something drastic to her hair to make her look more "natural" aka "normal"?

That's messed up! It's not like her hair is blue!

I definitely think brunette, for work at least. Its a nice colour you have picked. If you miss your blonde...you could buy a wig.

Welcome to the real world? Not being a smartass... that's just the way lot of employers are unless you work in the entertainment industry and even then you might be asked to change something.
And she didn't ask us about that
But I agree with you in principle.

Most work places won't hire you if you have many visible tattoos or many facial piercings. I agree that she should be able to look any way she wants, but I think her employer wants more "professional" looking employees. If you think about it, you wouldn't go to work in an office with flip flops and short-shorts or a bikini. This hair changing thing is just an extension of that idea. I'm sitting on the fence here because both arguments are valid. I'm glad you brought this up!

Oh, and I've dyed my hair blue before. Brunettes beware: not bleaching your hair and then dying it blue is nice at first-- after a few washes it leaves an ugly green stain!
Thanks for this!

They did not make her change her hair color. She said they asked if she would be willing to dye it a more natural color.

I'm with George on this one. Workplaces have dress/appearance codes/standards. That's the real world. I work in a professional position. When I started with the agency 9.5 years ago I was told the dress code was "business casual." Last year the agency had to come out with a detailed dress code of what was allowed and what was not because so-called professionals couldn't seem to figure out that if you are going to appear in court - as a PROFESSIONAL(!) - you should NOT wear t-shirts, shorts or flip-flops.
Thanks for this!
