In my desperation to save for my home deposit I'm coming up with as many ways to get money as I can- saving all the extra cash I have, selling belongings, buying the cheapest food possible, hand making things to sell, not spending any money on myself, recycling bottles and cans for 10 cents each, pet sitting/dog walking, etc.
But since I'm saving up for a huge amount of money in a very short amount of time, I am, as I said, trying to think of as many ways to come up with cash as I can, even small amounts.
I wanted to see if anyone could come up with other ideas to help me, and anyone else looking to save/earn extra money. I mean we could all do with more money right?

If you're any good at art, there's a demand for pet portraits as drawings or paintings - or even doing them through photography.

I heard about task rabbit on some late late talk show when I couldn't sleep. I don't know if it is where you live but you bid on tasks like getting coffee, shopping or cleaning for people who don't have time. You might be able to do that on Craig's list too, offer your skills to others.

Amazon Mechanical Turk website

It takes a little time to get in the system as it were but it's a little extra pocket money.

Personally, I've tried lowering costs through managing my heating & cooling bills. I've adjusted my comfort levels so that I can tolerate now what I never could have before and it has dramatically saved money on my electric and heating bills. A few degrees can save a lot of money.

Buy low, sell high If I wanted to make some money, I'd go to sites like Cash4Books.net: Sell Books - Sell Used Books Online - Free Shipping and try to discover some books they pay well for and then find those books cheaper; I'd figure out how to become a middleman of some sort, buy some stuff and a flea market table, etc.

swagbucks.com

swagbucks is a site where you can earn points to collect $5 of amazon cash or PayPal or Starbucks...to upwards of $100 of gift cards...but there is more things besides gift cards. But most of who are there redeem for amazon gift cards allowed up to 5 a month 2 a day.

oh you receive 50 swagbucks on your birthday.

I have received from them approx. 320$ in amazon gift cards, 1 Starbucks card, 1 sephora e-gift card and 1 ultimate game card.

I second the recommendation of Swagbucks, I use it, and then I sell the gift cards I get from there on Ebay. :3

(You'd be surprised how much more people are willing to pay for something; just sold a $10 Amazon gift card for $17! xD)

You could also look at Fiverr, although I didn't get any success in this avenue, if you have a good (Or crazy) talent, people will pay you to do it there.

(I'd post a link if I could, but I'm under ten posts, but you can Google it and it'll be right on top. :3)

If you have a website, you can also become an Amazon affiliate (or Barnes & Noble, if you prefer). If you're any good at writing, you can try to get a book published, write articles for newspapers and magazines, or write a movie script and try to get it bought (although all of these things usually don't pay right away).
