Today is the last day of my two week vacation. While part of me is sad for it to end, part of me is also ready to go back to work. There are a ton of changes happening at work and I want to get back to see what's happening. That's not the point of this post though.

I suppose others would think I'm daft, but I've had a great time off. I busted my backside working in my yard and at my Mom's house. There were multiple days I was mud from head to foot and couldn't have been happier. Both yards look so nice now. Mom's house is in a gated community. People will stop and ask who does the yard. I smile and say "Me!"

I also got to ride a bunch. To paraphrase Will Rogers, "The best thing for the inside of a person is the outside of a horse."

The cats have been in hog heaven having me home all day for two straight weeks. They have parked themselves on me any time I sat down. One day I had three of them sitting on me and one curled next to us because there wasn't anymore room on top of me.

Because of fibro and chronic fatigue, when I'm working the house becomes a mess. I just don't have the energy to clean when I get home at night. I've done some MAJOR housecleaning while I've been home. Re-arranged furniture in a couple of rooms. Set up and area where I can do my jewelry making. Before I had to root supplies out of a storage bin so I wouldn't bother. Mopped and polished the floors, waxed furniture, that sort of thing.

The first week I was home I napped almost every day. I've been reading a bunch. Been watching DVDs.

I realize that not everyone would thing this was a vacation, but I've had a great time!

Glad you had a good vacation! I think a vacation is when people can get a chance to do what they normally can't do! And it sounds like you were able to.
Thanks for this!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Whatever is a good vacation to you... is a good vacation
And your cats even enjoyed it
I think it's great that you are looking forward to going back to work. In my entire life I had one job that I felt that way about... that is so great for you.
Thanks for this!

Hey, you take my kind of vacations! Aren't they great??! One of the rewards of being on one's own. I'm delighted you have a job you like, too. Super!!
