I was filling out some psychological evaluation forms and one question was what feelings I miss now as an adult that I had as a child. I said I missed having time to let my mind wander. Maybe it's similar to having no pressures or responsibilities. As an adult you have to manage your time effectively and plan a time out for yourself. But emotions can't always be tapped into during that one time frame that you set aside I also found some of the most loved childhood feelings on this site:

22 Childhood Feelings You Wish You Could Get Back

What feelings do you miss? Have you tried to recreate them or relive them? For those of us who have kids it's nice because you get to relive some of these emotions again

I am about to visit the link.
I miss just loving to jump rope forever---and the feeling of summer nights playing under streetlamps----playing imaginative games...the sense of limitless time...

Fireflies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just that first sighting each year & having a jar full for a short time....
(I'm 60 and must admit that, when I walk about town at night, I do get on the swings in the playgrounds---I haven't jumped off in mid air for a while....hmmmmm. And I swing over the bars...)
Cartwheels! I did the best ones ever. Can still stand on my head but it isn't quite the same.

I miss thinking people were good - didn't have knowledge of bad people or events. Miss the long days of summer riding my bike - carefree. Catching butterflies with my brother and letting them go in the house - happiness. Miss the urge to just skip when I'm walking. Safety - when my mother took care of me when I was sick.

I miss not being responsible for someone else, being a mother is hard, especially when they get sick. I miss feeling like I have my whole life ahead of me, to do what I want with. I miss the few good times when I had my brother and sister and parents enjoying simple things together

I miss the sense of time being endless; of not having to worry about my next meal, getting a job, being alone in the world, adult responsibilities. Yes, I worried about school issues but I never felt there would be anything other than endless school, summer, school again and my brothers, friends, family and relatives around me. I did not realize the enormity of experience and how frightening that would be for me.

The green smell of the gardens around our elementary school. A lot of evergreen, juniper. Now whenever I pass a stand of juniper bushes, I'm right back there, in my little plaid uniform...

I had that happen yesterday, eating an apricot. I had the misfortune to pick a ripe one off a tree in Southern California (overhanging the sidewalk on my way home from school :-) in about 1962 and I've never had another apricot that has come close to it and I have so wished. . .

Forget about corn straight from the field; a sun-ripened apricot is the true nectar of the gods.

I miss being able to immerse myself in play without being worried about what I should be doing instead. So, I suppose, the feeling of freedom.

I have a thing about apricots too! Our next door neighbor had a bunch of trees in their backyard. I keep looking for their equal too.

Oh, my, so many. I didn't look at the official link here on this thread, but these lost feelings come into my mind: The excitement of seeing what Santa had brought on Christmas morning, the fun of swinging on a swing set, the enjoyment of just spinning around for the sake of getting really dizzy, the thrill of playing kickball, the joy of being read to, and the fun of making mud pies and pretending to cook them in my toy oven.

Just thinking about all these fun memories makes me happy. Thanks for this thread, chocmouse!

I guess I miss believing my mom actually loves me. It is kind of difficult to say that because part of me is actually embarrassed that I was so naive that actually believed that and another part of me remembers the pain I felt as she slowly chipped away at that belief as I grew older. But I guess I miss those moments when I'd laugh with my mom and I wouldn't be suspicious of her intentions.

I don't really miss much of anything about my childhood to be honest. It was a horrible time for me and I hate most everything that reminds me of it.

I miss the sense of wonder the most.
I also miss this feeling that's hard to describe. Though there are several words that come close, nothing quite catches it. It's this feeling like something mystical, wondrous, and magical is waiting off on the horizon.
