Can you recommend a coffee bean that gives a really rich taste?
I usually get Melitta arabica medium roast beans with hazelnut flavouring. I've been trying a bunch of different kinds - first I went through what the grocery store has in bulk and found I dislike French Roast and espresso and other dark ones because they just taste burnt to me. I tried Pike Place roast from Starbucks this morning, and that was quite acidy at the back of my tongue. I don't think I'd have three cups of that over the morning, because it would be too much. Maybe cutting down to two would be good. Still it seems a bit harsh or unsubtle. Maybe I could make it a bit weaker at home and it would be better. I might try it. I used to get a chocolate flavoured one that was nice, but it's gone. The Mocha Java from the grocery store was okay, but a bit weak. Any suggestions? I'd love to try David Lynch's coffee, but at 21 pounds plus a bunch more for shipping it looks like almost $50 for 12 ounces and that would be a too-extravagant experiment. ![]() Last edited by H3rmit; Sep 06, 2013 at 04:07 PM. |

I once tried beans from a local coffee shop / store called "Monsooned Malabar". Best coffee I have ever had!!! Very smooth. I normally like strong beans and dark roast varieties, this one is not rated very strong but I find it has a great flavor. You'll find a ton of online outlets for it on Google search.
