Hi-

I was wondering if you were able to move to any place in the US, and afford to live there, where would it be and why??

I hate where I live. The winters are too cold for me.

Thanks.

I loved Colorado so possibly there. I'm not fond of the winters, and crazy weather patterns they have (seriously, wearing short sleeves one day and the next dealing with a blizzard?) bar that...I'd probably stay here in the Catskills.
Thanks for this!

I'd either live in Asheville, North Carolina or Gatlinburg Tennessee. Loved Asheville when I visited and Gatlinburg is beautiful too. The mountains in both locations are awesome

I just, ... wouldn't. If I had to, though, ... probably somewhere nice and secluded.

Having trouble w/ winter myself the older I get. I vote for the Carolina's. Mild temps & somewhere w/ in driving distance to a beach! My dream would b to retire there, but I'm not allowed to say that word out loud.

I would live in California. I've been intrigued by the sunshine and weather since I was about 16. I think i might miss the seasonal changes though here in Arkansas.
Thanks for this!

Don't get why so many people love the Carolina's. I live here. It sucks.

I'd go somewhere in California. More progressive than here. Not for the scenery or anything. For the progress. Being able to walk down the street without smoke blown in my face? I can get down with that. Being able to use the proper bathroom for my identified gender in school? I can get down with that, too.

I live in Cullowhee, which is about 50 miles west of Asheville. It is a lovely area. I suppose if I had to choose another place to live, I would live in Minnesota. Land of 10,000 lakes, and I would like to have an actual winter with snow, although I can say I don't like waking up before the sun when it's 8 degrees, like it was here one winter, but at least you can bundle up.

I would like to say where, but will leave this post, at someplace far, far away from my exh! That way, I'd know he can't ever hurt me, again!

Thanks for answering! I live in the Northeast. My family hates me and I know I should move away. I appreciate your ideas.

I went to Lake Michigan as a child, my only time in America. That view was beautiful.

I grew up in California in the Bay Area. Moved to Oregon twenty years ago. I think I would like to live in Malibu or somewhere in California. I miss the sun terribly!

I have lived in the East (New Jersey), Midwest (Kansas), South (Georgia) and the West (Calif). I doubt I will ever move away from Calif since the weather everywhere else leaves much to be desired.

Tough question! I better make up my mind pretty damn quick though, times a ticking away.
I'm from So. CA and it is Very Crowded now, so my memories are of a sweeter, slower time.
It is pretty great in San Diego. They have major sports teams, beaches, awesome live theater and other cultural stuff that I love. And a great park & zoo right in town. And no one looks weird at you for anything. Even skating!
It is a busy busy busy place but does have that coastal desert, beach walks thing going on...and the Green Flash.

I would move to California if I could. I hate snow in NYC, and the hot hot summers. I want it to be 70 degrees all year round!

I'm Canadian but Alaska looks good. With a couple of months per year in the Mojave somewhere. The bleak barren stuff. Whichever state has the most of that. [oh...with a few travel wkends to NYC getting royally stunned by the milieu and madness of sudden overwhelming masses]

I loved the Southwest US. Colorado, the 4 corners area. Big wide open spaces and room to think. And the cleanest air!

But I hear Portland Oregon is very friendly and laid-back----and I don't mind rain.

Too many places I haven't seen, yet, probably, for me to be able to choose ONE location. Need to travel more.
