So I went to get my hair colored today, and wanted a violet red color. Well, we went through the entire process and my hair looks EXACTLY the same in normal lighting, and only has a very slight tint in direct light. Needless to say, I am quite disappointed, but the stylist was very nice and she didn't charge me because she doesn't know what went wrong.
Anyway, because this color didn't work, we're going to do a different color next time, and she's going to lift some color from my hair so there will be a change for sure. So...what color do you think would look good on me? Here's a pic: My undertones are actually a lot more yellow than this shows...this pic is from the summer when I tended to be redder from the heat. Thanks! |

I wouldn't worry too much about your hair but i would see a doctor straight away as you seem to have stars in your eyes and a big hole where your mouth should be.
As for colour er don't know but then i'm not a girl. |

I'm partial to the brunette, so I'd personally just keep it as it is! xD Also, ptangptang is right, ... it looks like you have a very serious condition.

My hair isn't even brown...it's almost jet black. It's literally only 1 shade off of jet black...and well, it's boring. I want some COLOR!

If you want electrifying color, bring your stylist some MANIC PANIC. It works even on unbleached hair, but looks incredibly bright on bleached. I believe you can pick up a limited selection at Sally's beauty supply, but there's a whole range online. Even examples of what the (vegan) dye looks like on unprocessed hair. You can also dye at home. I would always dye at home, because my stylist was too timid to do what I asked. I would think a wine color would look nice on you. But Go check out the color choices on manic panic's website! Id attach a picture of my pink hair, but my post count is too low!

Well, there's really no such thing as a permanent color. but as far as non traditional colors, manic panic has lasted the longest with me. I would only have to color a few times a year. The less you bleach, the darker and more subtle the color will be.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on there being no permanent color...unless by that you mean hair grows and new growth isn't colored. Plenty of colors will stay in practically forever. Until I dyed over it, I had very light reddish brown hair on the under half that wasn't going anywhere.

I also think that a really rich auburn would look really nice against your skin tone.

Well, I got it done! And I absolutely LOVE it! It's a mix of red/brown/violet. I honestly think it's PERFECT for me!
