I don't celebrate it, nor am I Canadian, but I just wanted to wish everyone a good time! Plus I like Canadian peepoles.

I am cooking right now, as I type. My son will be over later with his girlfriend and it iwll be a very casual dinner but nice and quiet. Since we all work in the food industry, we rarely all get the holiday off work together.

So what do you guys do for this event? What are you celebrating? I don't know a great deal about American/Canadian culture, but I always see this thanksgiving celebrated on American shows/movies. Thanksgiving, to me, seems like Christmas, without the presents. xD You have the turkey, and the family, ... yep, that's how Xmas is over here.

Yes, even in Canada, Thanksgiving is one of the three "turkey days" along with
Christmas and Easter.

Where American practice views Thanksgiving as the beginning of
the holiday season (as in "happy holidays"), however, Canadian practice
continues to associate Thanksgiving with the bounties of the harvest.

Thanksgiving was originally a celebration for the successful cultivation and harvest of crops at the end of the summer growing season. Especially when the native people helped the new European settlers learn to grow the local crops in the new land. The first settlers would not have survived throughout the winter was it not for the help of the natives of North America at first. Now, it is celebrated annually as a national holiday.

Well how cool is that! Glad to hear you all get the day together. I bet your dinner will taste great! I got to spend it with my two sisters and their children, we haven't all gotten together for quite a while. We got to get out to the pumpkin patch togther as well..that was pretty fun.

I hope the rest of your day and dinner are wonderful.
