Don't worry, nothing dangerous! lol.
I was just thinking about how I play music based on my mood- usually some variation of rock- sometimes lighter rock, sometimes hard rock or metal; sometimes even mellow trance music or rnb. I also wear clothes, jewelry, makeup, and nail polish based on my mood.
Well, I thought that starting tomorrow I will wear nothing but bright/happy colors, and listen to only positive/happy type music (happy classic rock, tranquil mixes) Now, this may be a bit hard, seeing as my wardrobe is mostly comprised of dark colors, but at least Ill have the light nail polish and upbeat music.
I got this idea because I was noticing that the more I listen to tranquil or happy tunes, the better mood I'm in, and the more dark music I listen to, the more my good tends to stay negative.
Of course, I'm also a highly sensitive individual.
It will be hard, because if I'm in a crap mood, I can't stand and upbeat song, and the same goes if I'm in a good mood, I can't listen to a song that's to dark or metal. What do you al think? Do you tend to notice your moods being influenced sometimes by the colors and music around you?

At the end of the week I will let you know how it went
Thanks for this!

It's the other way around for me. My mood influences what I do. If I'm in a foul mood I tend to write Science Fiction/Horror. If I'm in a good mood I write fantasy.

A partial update: So far it's been hard at times to listen to upbeat music, but I've been able to distract myself with comedy and have prevailed listening to mainly upbeat type music- except for when I worked out yesterday- I needed an extra oomph to energize me so I had to break out the hard rock! lol. Today I was able to force myself to stay positive even when I felt my mood souring and pretty soon I was in a fairly good mood . . . But I'm actually in a pissy mood again now and am going to go watch some stand up comedy.

Colors and music don't really affect my moods. But I notice that when I do listen to upbeat tunes I do feel better. Good luck with your experiment and tell us how it goes!

Ok, so things have become a bit difficult. My anxiety has increased a it- I think I might have to go back to listening to angtsy rock music- I think it's therapeutic for me- releases tension. I think because I've always sorta done it, I don't now how else to release it in a constructive manner without freaking out or something. I'll try to last another day or so and see how things go.

Ok, so I made it through another day- To be honest- the past few days I felt like doing nothing- I was really reclusive, but I don't think it had anything to do with my experiment- I think it's mostly worries about my life and career and the rut I seem to be stuck in. It's frustrating, but now I'm feeling pretty wired and energized after listening to a bunch of punk rock- or maybe it's the cinnamon stick tea I just had. IDK.
So overall- while I got a bit tense during my experiment and it was a struggle to continue to listen to positive music (I was mainly listening to the Tranquility Bass Radio on Pandora, feel free to check it out, it's quite soothing), it did have a relaxing effect on me.
But Overall, while listening to more calming music in general is helpful I've found, I still need to vent by listening to the occasional loud angsty metal/rock music.

I'm all over the map with music. Punk, Nu-Metal, Rock, Oldies, Classic Rock, 80's, Disco, some times even country, jazz, blues and yes even classical. Some times I just don't want to hear any music at all too. Some times it all gets under my skin. If oldies or punk can't pull me up, nothing usually can.
