I just watched some videos on YouTube (which is now connected to Google+), and I can't comment! I click the box, and the cursor stands there, blinking, but when I type, the characters don't show up or anything! I've Googled and tried to find causes, but it just says I need to connect my channel to Google+--which I've already done a while back! Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I don't know, maybe clear your browser? restart your computer? try a different browser? Unless it's YouTube itself.

I made a comment on a video yesterday just before connecting to google+. I received an email that someone responded to my comment along with a link to the comment. Nothing there. I hate google more than ever.

What did they screw up this time! Youtube has been nothing but trouble the last few yrs!
Very angry! Atleast its just comments, what do I care what others write. Messages are different story. |

Well, I think I solved the problem, even though I'm not very happy about it. I knew it had to be connected to Google +, which my account was, but apparently, I can't go to YouTube.com and leave comments; I have to connect to Google's website (on YouTube, I click the arrow that leads to my account options, and then I have to click on "Google+"), and then I can comment, but the site changes to plus.google.com. If I stay on YouTube, a comment box will pop up, and it even shows the profile pic I just added, but it won't show any of the letters I'm typing. This really miffs me! I shouldn't have to connect to another site just to comment on videos I can see when at the main site (YouTube.com, I mean, as opposed to plus.google.com). Yeesh!

The person who uploads videos to Youtube has the ability to disable comments if they choose.

What's Google+?

Google+ is another social media network. Truthfully, that's all I know about it, other than having to connect to it to comment on YouTube. (Grrr!!!) I hate to say this, but you can...Google it. (Sorry!)

I'm having no issues commenting on YouTube, even using my original YT account. If you can't type on it, try rebooting or something simple, it's unlikely to be a big problem

Google, not Bing! Bing is a useless search engine.
I have no problem commenting on youtube, but I take the option to log in with my email and DON'T connect with a gmail account. I don't want my search results followed to that degree, thanks. I also avoided the whole Google+ thing. So doing it that way might be a solution. They don't make it easy to find, though.

H3rmit, when was the last time you commented? I think you have to use a Google+ account now to comment; Google owns YouTube and has made that change to boost their numbers so they appear to compete favorably with Facebook.

I just commented. I unticked the "share with google+" box. Yes, you are right and I was wrong, I do have to "go through google+" now, but I was able to post on youtube and avoided anything but an empty public profile on google+, I suppose. It's different from how it used to try to force me to log in with a gmail account. Same name as my youtube, but then I would not have access to my playlists. So, I guess this still is a bit of a workaround.
