I found a really nice telescope for $30 today and I need help figuringg it out. Its a DS2130AT meade telescope. Specs, d=13mm f=1020 f/7.9. Its in really good shape as far as I can tell. But its missing its handbox. These new scopes are weird and digital. I cant get it to focus. All I see is a big blur when I look at the moon. Im using a 10mm lens I havent tried the 20mm yet. Mabye thats why its blurry. But anyway, can you operate a digital scope manually? And if not where do I find a handbox? And is the blur normal using 10mm? Thanks!

give me some time and i'll help you. right now all i can say is use lower power (higher mm) it give widest field of view and sharper images. dont jump into high power right away, you will only be turned off the hobby.

do you know what model handbox you need? I may have one i can give you.
Thanks for this!

Im going to put the 25mm on it tomarrow. See if I cant get it focused up on something un the daytime. It uses a 494 Autostar handbox.
Hopefully I can get it straightened out before Christmas Im giving it to my youngest boy. He lives his lil retractor. This one has more capabilities.

you likely know already, but NEVER point it at the sun! I'd like to see yours if possible. Anyway I do have the autostar #494 handbox, with software CD, and cables. I'll never use it.

Yea haha I know better. I like my eyesight! Ill get some pics of it soon and post them here. Its a really good scope. Im just too used to old school refractors I guess. These new digital ones are strange to me. I downloaded the instruction manual so I dont screw it up. Thank you soooo so much, Aries. I PM'd you back.
