Hi everyone,

Well I more or less survived my move, although it left me totally exhausted.

Fortunately all my furniture seems to fit in my new apartment although the placing is a little awkward at the moment

And I'd forgotten just how much stuff I have - our new dinning room is literally filled wall to wall with boxes that have to be emptied and put away. That's going to be a major undertaking next week.

I'm marginally annoyed - an antique tea wagon that was my grandmother's was badly scratched and it's glass tray broken. I also heard a box of glass shatter but haven't yet identified which box it was so I can't tell what was in it.

The main thing is my harp survived the move completely unscathed which was a huge relief.

The cable guy has already come, so we now have cable and internet, which is nice.

But I was so exhausted yesterday after the move, that I slept for literally 12 hours.

Today - it's off to do a major food shop, and then start unpacking my room.

I'm sorry there were some things broken, but I'm glad your furniture fits and that you were able to get some rest. I hope you can pace yourself unpacking the boxes.

Hugs,

Jan

Glad to hear you survived the move. Sorry your treasure got broken, though.

Good luck in your new apartment! Hopefully the glass in the box that broke wasn't anything of too much importance.

Almost impossible to go through a move without some things getting damaged. Hope you settle soon

Ugh! Moving almost always involves some breakage.

Hopefully, it wasn't anything cherished. Crossing my fingers for you ~ I hope that your move also includes getting some new things to make a new and fun fit for you.

Glad you got moved. Moving can be so hard. Maybe time to down size some more? Give yourself sometime to recuperate and it will feel like home in no time. I wish you the best in your new place.

Thanks everyone. I'm slowly making progress.

One of the challenges now, is I'm unpacking the china, but I can't put it in the china cabinet, becuase there are still too many boxes blocking the china cabinet.

And despite doing a major book purge - I got rid of somewhere between 800 & `1000 books I still have more books than can fit on my shelves.

My room is a disaster area, it's so crowded with boxes, that it's actually hard to make progress. I think that'll be a tomorrow project as I continue to work on clearing the dinning room.

But in happy news - I found my shower curtain, so we can now safely take showers.

I have moved so many times in my adult life, I have lost count. And yes, it seems that when I hand responsibility over to someone else, things inevitable get broken/damaged, or even lost. (**Sad sighs**) Moving is very hard on the nerves! And it is just plain exhausting.

I'm so glad the harp made it safe---that is a huge positive!

You will do it, you'll get through all the boxes and find a home for everything. It's just one of those one-day-at-a-time things.

Hugs, and congratulations!

Yup I downsized before I moved and found that when I got to my new place I needed to down size more. It didn't get done over night. Even now if I need to move again I will need to take some things to a charity shop.

Take your time. One box for you.............. One box for the charity shop...
