Is it appropriate for the mother of the expectant father and his wife to throw a baby shower for the two of them? I'm going to receive my second grandchild in May and would like to have a shower for them sometime before that.

Social mores are not so strict now. Throw the shower and enjoy every second of it!!!

Hugs,

A friend of mine threw a wedding shower for her daughter. As someone else said, not only is it appropriate, it's wonderful! Enjoy and have fun!

Yes, the more the merrier. No particular person has to do it anymore; there's parents' friends and the couple's friends, work friends, neighborhood, relatives, etc.
